Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to play a critical role in shaping how a major, complex project will be constructed.

This position initially focuses on execution development activities during the study phase to ensure that the execution strategies, processes and plans are embedded early to support successful project delivery. The role will initially be based in Adelaide during the study phase and then transition to site-based work thereafter to lead and oversee the site-based construction activities from early execution to final handover of systems.

The Senior Construction Manager will bring extensive construction and execution experience to the team and will manage the development of execution strategies, constructability, and delivery planning during the phase .This position will focus on the Electrical works including associated Bulk Earthworks and Non Process Infrastructure areas

Key Responsibilities:

 Oversee and direct Project Engineers and other construction personnel through the DPS phase of the project
• Manage and coordinate assigned project activities in alignment with DPS objectives
• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee and direct Project Engineers and other construction personnel through the DPS phase of the project
• Lead and contribute to constructability reviews
• Provide input into the development of project schedules
• Interface with Greenfield and Brownfield Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) partners to support execution strategy development, including constructability, schedule development, equipment planning, heavy lift strategies, staffing and costing.
• Manage the development and contribute to key deliverables, including Project Execution Plans (PEP), constructability reports, and temporary facilities planning
• Manage and oversee the develop of presentations, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for DPS requirements
• Conduct risk assessments
• Coordinate with technical disciplines, suppliers, contractors, and the client to ensure integrated, fit-for-purpose solutions

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four-year degree or 20 years applicable construction experience on large and complex projects
• Proficient in the ability to coordinate and direct others in their respective roles and to meet or exceed project objectives
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, colleagues, clients, suppliers, and contractors
• Modularisation experience would be of great benefit

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability promoting outstanding customer service and client relations

• Excellent skills in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, communication, and leadership; possess strong presentation ability to address senior management, client management, and total project personnel with command

• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs

• Competency in administrative functions related to project and office operations

• Functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management as it applicable to assigned area of responsibility; possess the capacity to direct those functions as required to support the project execution while typically being well seasoned in most functions as they apply to management of the project

• Demonstrated strong decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills with ability to remain calm while taking charge in critical situations
