Job Description
The Senior Civil Engineer shall be responsible for doing Civil design which includes earthwork, grading, roads, paving and drainage design for in-house projects. He / she shall review and verify the design done by contractors on assigned projects to ensure safe, high quality, fit for purpose design. The engineer shall ensure that Civil design is aligned with all disciplines, whilst motivating a team of engineers / designers and help in developing younger engineers.
Key responsibilities include in the following areas :
• International design codes i.e. AASHTO / ACI / API / ASTM / AWWA / NFPA / PIP standards.
• Earthwork Design - Rough Grading, Finish Grading
• Roads and Paving Design
• Roads - Geometric Design
• Site Development, Fencing and Gates design
• Local codes and regulations such as HCIS, RC
• Storm water drainage Design
• Potentially contaminated drainage design
• Sanitary sewer design
• Fire water drainage design
• Evaporation ponds, first flush ponds hydraulic design
• Preparing Scope of work for Geotechnical investigation, Topographical survey and underground scanning survey
• Drainage software such as Civilstorm, SewerGem, or any other industry recognized software
• Site grading software such as Civil 3D, Open roads or any other industry recognized software
• Preparation of Design calculation reports
• Preparation of Basis of Design, project specifications and standards
• 3D based project execution & familiar with review software like Navisworks and SPR
• Squad check and vendor drawings review
• Preparation of Material Take off
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- 10 years Civil Engineering experience involving earthwork, site grading, roads and various types of drainage design in the petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industries.
- 5-7 years experience should be with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor.
- Shall have good experience in FEED and Detailed Design projects both for green field and brown field projects.
- Site / construction experience will be an asset
