Job Description

Fluor is seeking a Sr. Manager, Advanced Work Packaging for a project site role in Bagdad, AZ. This position oversees and plans work requiring sound engineering judgment in the breakdown of construction projects into smaller, discipline specific, manageable and planned pieces of work for installation by field crews. This position oversees the activities of the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) group personnel and subcontractors. This position oversees the development of execution sequencing and works with various department managers to facilitate the transfer of information.

 

Position Overview: Join our workface planning teams, where experienced workface planners facilitate and oversee contractors in the development and collation of installation work packs (IWP). These packs guide construction crews in safe and efficient execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the activities of group personnel and subcontractors
  • Recruit, develop and retain group Manager, Lead and Planner personnel
  • Ensure that personnel receive the appropriate training on both corporate and project specific organizational policies and procedures
  • Ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved
  • Coordinate and assign responsibilities to Managers and Leads under his or her direction and ensure that these activities support construction requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of industrial construction project experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fourteen (14) years if non-degreed
  • Minimum of five (5) years as a Foreman or Superintendent, or other construction project roles such as Workpackage Engineer / coordinators
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to coworkers, management, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

  • Knowledge about various construction trade disciplines
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings (P&ID’s, isometrics, erection drawings, general arrangements, line designation tables, cable schedules, etc.)
  • Strong constructability background
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Strong understanding of materials management systems, tracking and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Intergraph Smart Construction / SmartPlant Construction or related experience
  • Possess strong problem solving, organizational and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to adapt to and manage changing conditions
  • Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, testing requirements and documentation management requirements inclusive of turnover procedures

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $119,500.00 - $222,500.00
