Job Description
This position supports the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision as well as helping to satisfy quality requirements on the project. Initiate action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work. Provide construction engineering and technical support for one or more construction engineering specialist disciplines within an area on large stand-alone projects. Provide construction engineering and technical support to all construction engineering efforts for a specific discipline on small to medium projects
Basic Job Requirements
- HS diploma or GED.
- Perform construction engineering work requiring application of standard construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in performing a sequence of related construction engineering tasks
- Assist craftsmen and foreman with construction-related issues identified on drawings
- Perform surveillance/examinations, if required, to ensure that the Quality objectives are being met for the project
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Other Job Requirements
- 3-6 year(s) of construction experience supporting concrete and/or civil projects
- Experience working on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and related civil projects
- Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
