Job Description
Summary
This position conducts work directly related to management and operations of U. S. Benefits programs. The work requires advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise. The position includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
Scope
This position is responsible for the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of employee leave of absence, disability, and time off programs. This role serves as a key advisor to employees, managers, HR partners, and vendors, ensuring programs are compliant, employee-centered, and operationally efficient.
Basic Job Requirements
- Oversee employee leave programs, including but not limited to FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), and state and local leave laws.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for leave and disability policies, processes, and escalations.
- Partner with third-party leaves administrator to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant leave and disability case management.
- Review complex or escalated cases and appeals to provide clear and empathetic guidance to employees, HR Business Partners and HR Operations, balancing compliance with employee experience.
- Support and guide HR Business Partners and HR Operations on leave requirements, best practices, and responsibilities.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure company time off program policies, including Time Off with Pay (TOWP), sick time, and holidays, align with company intent and applicable laws.
- Partner with third-party leaves administrator, leaves consultant and Legal to monitor and interpret federal, state, and local leave and disability regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Lead updates to policies, procedures, and employee communications.
- Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal compliance reviews related to leave and time off programs.
- Analyze processes and data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Partner with Benefits leadership, leaves consultant, third-party administrator to enhance program design and employee experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Typical Minimun Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eleven (11) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in HR, Psychology, Education, Business, Finance or related field, with experience in Human Resources.
- 4 - 5 years’ experience with U.S. Benefits including leaves, disability, and time off benefits.
- Problem solving, communication, judgment, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to provide analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to be discreet with confidential company and employee information.
- Ability to build trusted relationships, foster cross-cultural collaboration, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and peers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer and software skills to include the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Display an understanding of the company's organizational structure, corporate culture, and business objectives.

- Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
- Various levels of environmental conditions including, but not limited to, project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $83,000.00 - $154,000.00
