Job Description

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Plans, designs, and oversees civil engineering projects, such as airports, bridges, buildings, channels, dams, harbors, irrigation systems, pipelines, power plants, railroads, roads, sewage systems, tunnels, and water supply. Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project. Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering, and advanced mathematics. 

Basic Job Requirements

  • Civil Engineer Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET Accredited University

 

  • At least five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: 

 

    • Construction or Facility Maintenance

 

    • Experience with Structural Engineering

 

    • Pavement, Construction, and Maintenance & Transportation Infrastructure Management

 

  • Must be a US Citizen

 

  • Must have or be able to obtain Tier I security clearance

 

Other Job Requirements

Must be proficient in reviewing and analyzing civil engineering drawings and specifications, conducting site assessments to identify constraints and opportunities, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

 

Requires computer skills and proficiency using email, Microsoft Office or specialized applications as necessary to perform assigned job functions.

 

To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with airfield pavement systems

 

  • Experience with pavement management systems

 

  • AFIT WENG 200, WENG 400, WENG 555, WMGT 331, WMGT 341, WMGT 417, WENG 550

 

  • Familiarity with AFIT Courses WMGT 131, and WMGT 301

 

  • Prior military and/or contingency experience
