Job Description

The DPW Coordinator, Senior (Fire Alarm Specialist) serves as the multi-site technical lead for fire alarm and mass notification systems under the BOS-I contract. The position includes team supervision and authority across multiple facilities, ensuring operational readiness, inspection compliance, documentation accuracy, and mission continuity of life-safety systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises fire alarm technicians across multiple facilities.
• Develops preventive maintenance schedules and manpower plans.
• Serves as liaison to DPW, Fire Marshal, COR, and Safety.
• Executive-level readiness briefings and compliance reporting.
• Oversees inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM).
• Maintains compliance with NFPA 72, NEC, and UFC criteria.
• Manages fire alarm impairments and documentation.
• Provides emergency response escalation for system failures.
• Multi-site fire alarm system oversight and sustainment.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Corrective maintenance and rapid restoration response.
• Inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) compliance.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervises Fire Alarm Technicians across multiple facilities.

Basic Job Requirements

High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and seven (7) years to ten (10) years related experience.

Other Job Requirements

• Requires computer skills and proficiency using email, Microsoft Office or specialized applications as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
• To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have a Secret Security Clearance
• Experience with networked fire alarm systems and mass notification systems.

• Ability to obtain installation access credentials
• Inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) compliance.
• Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
• Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh, working and living conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior military and/or contingency experience.
• Progression toward NICET Level I, II and III preferred.
