Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as Design Area Lead or Design Lead on assigned projects and performs 3D layout with moderate to difficult complexity design scope.

• Prepare 3D layouts and/or  2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings/schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity

• Conduct reviews of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of advanced complexity

• Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout

• Check work done by other Designers

• Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports

• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution

• Review fabricator drawings

• Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations

• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures

• Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material, and conducting training seminars including performance appraisal input and counseling

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

•Advanced knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national codes and standards

• Advanced knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

• Practical field experience

• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail,

spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Other Job Requirements

• Advanced experience in an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company

• Advanced knowledge in design, installation, and selection of active and passive fire protection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems

• Ability to utilize AutoCAD to produce 2D diagrammatic drawings and sketches

• Ability to design fire protection systems utilizing Revit and/or AutoSprink

• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations using either AutoSprink, HASS, or PipeNet

• Practical field experience related to the installation, start-up, and commissioning of fire protection and alarm systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Life Sciences and pharma industry experience

• Semiconductor and micro electronics industry experience

• Data center industry experience

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $204,000.00
