Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the HSE Engineering work tasks for projects. This will allow the delivery of projects for which the design minimizes the risks of human injury, environmental degradation and asset loss. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position may serve as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or perform moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.

·  Support and assist in supervising HSE activities on medium to large-scale projects, including budgets, staffing, schedules, and technical deliverables

·  Develop and support HSE engineering documentation such as Safety Cases (SC), Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Fire Protection Specifications (FPS), and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)

·  Apply and interpret company HSE standards, client requirements, and applicable local, state/provincial, and federal/national regulations

·  Provide technical guidance to project teams, business lines, and project management on HSE-related issues

·  Perform and support gap analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies between company standards, client requirements, and regulatory expectations

·  Support HSE permitting activities by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines

·  Analyze complex HSE-related problems and develop independent recommendations aligned with project and organizational objectives

·  Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation required for compliance and audits

·  Ensure work complies with company HSE, sustainability policies, and global standards

·  Organize and manage multiple work assignments effectively while meeting project schedules and deadlines

·  Participate in audits, client meetings, regulatory interactions, and project reviews as required

·  Support training and development of junior HSE staff, specialists, and consultants

·  Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree (or global equivalent) in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant HSE or engineering work-related experience
  • Recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required by location
  • Strong knowledge of HSE engineering principles, design standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to interpret and apply local, national, and international HSE regulations and guidelines
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work with project teams, management, clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-effective and deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel and work in office, project site, and client/vendor facility environments

Other Job Requirements

• Continue education and knowledge of industry-wide HSE-related information and technologies as well as new regulations and trends through continuing education, conferences, and/or periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization

• Supervise and train subordinates assigned to her/his area

• Serve as a Company representative to external HSE organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Life Sciences and pharma industry experience

• Semiconductor and micro electronics industry experience

• Data center industry experience

• Experience in an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $191,500.00
