Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer – Electrical System Studies to perform power system analysis and electrical network studies for Oil & Gas industrial, utility, renewable energy and EPC projects.

 

The role will involve developing electrical system models, carrying out engineering studies, interpreting results, preparing technical reports, and providing recommendations to ensure the safety, reliability, stability, and optimum performance of electrical systems.

Basic Job Requirements

• BTech or BE in Electrical Engineering or global equivalent in engineering field of study and fifteen (15) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

• Perform electrical system studies for LV, MV and HV electrical networks.

• Develop and maintain electrical network models using industry-standard power system analysis software.

• Carry out:

    • Load Flow Studies
    • Short Circuit Analysis
    • Motor Starting (Static and Dynamic) Studies
    • Transient Stability Studies
    • Harmonic Analysis
    • Power Factor and Reactive Power Analysis
    • Arc Flash Studies
    • Protection Coordination / Relay Coordination Studies
    • Insulation Co-ordination

• Analyze study results and identify system constraints, overloads, voltage issues, fault levels, harmonic problems, and equipment limitations.

• Recommend appropriate technical solutions such as transformer tap settings, capacitor/reactor sizing, network configuration, equipment ratings, and protection settings.

• Prepare study reports, calculation notes, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables.

• Ensure studies comply with applicable ANSI, IEC, IEEE, IS, utility requirements, and project specifications.

• Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, vendors, and project teams.
