Job Description
This position is responsible for the overall implementation and direction for the assigned area of the estimating functions to provide services, procedures, and methods for the timely and accurate issuance of estimates and supporting documentation to the lead project estimator, project manager and client. Responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality cost estimates. Understands the overall scope of work of the project, technical parameters and specifications of equipment & packages and bulk items, required for developing the cost estimates. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of co-workers. Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
- On small-sized or multiple projects, the individual may act independently or may direct a staff of other estimating individuals. On large/extremely large-sized projects, the individual may report to an upper-level estimator and may direct a portion of the estimating staff
- Develop the estimate execution plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team
- Lead the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
- Owns the total cost estimate while presenting to management and client
- Prepare the complete Basis of Estimate
- Prepare the Estimate Risk Analysis and make cost contingency recommendations
- Arrange and conduct the estimate reviews i.e. department, discipline, and management reviews
- Participate in the presentation of the estimate to client management; learning how to sell an estimate
- Assist in estimate completion activities and estimate turnover to the project team
- Develop and conduct estimating training programs
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Skillfully utilizes estimating methods and the expertise of other project professionals to establish total project estimates. Seasoned expertise is required to ensure that all pertinent information is updated in relation to the present scope of work. This position may require direct interface with the client. This position requires direct contact with all required functional areas
- Establishes and maintains local estimating information such as escalation indices, rate of exchange variation, productivity, etc.
- Takes responsibility for self-checking the accuracy of own work and that of subordinates
- Able to analyze the historical cost data and using the same while developing cost estimates
- Providing proposal support
- Maintains established Estimating Systems, Procedures, and Manuals
- Perform peer review of estimate when assigned
- May need to travel to attend to business related matters
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
- Total 18-25 years’ experience in Consulting/Engineering (EPC environment) with minimum 10-15 years’ experience in mining projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in Mining sector/Mining projects.
