Job Description
Under moderate supervision and direction, responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality cost estimates. Understands the technical parameters and specifications of mechanical equipment & packages and piping, required for developing the cost estimates. Understands the piping material take offs/bill of quantities/sized mechanical equipment list. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of co-workers. Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
- Coordinates information exchange among Estimating, Engineering, Procurement/Supply Chain and Construction groups
Develops and provides high-quality cost estimates for material, labor and subcontract works to upper-level estimator/lead estimator in a timely manner. - Prepares estimate execution plan, basis of estimate and management review package
- Participates in scope & quantity reviews and management reviews of cost estimates
- Skillfully utilizes estimating methods and the expertise of other project professionals to establish total project estimates. Seasoned expertise is required to ensure that all pertinent information is updated in relation to the present scope of work. This position may require direct interface with the client. This position requires direct contact with all required functional areas
- Establishes and maintains local estimating information such as escalation indices, rate of exchange variation, productivity, etc.
- Prepares the estimate analysis within the mechanical and piping disciplines
- Prepares discipline Change Order Estimates
- Consults with others for developing home office costs, indirect field costs, escalation, cost contingency and other costs
- Assists in historical data retrieval, updating, and maintenance (unit rates, installation hours etc.)
- Analyze and solve problems as they occur
- Takes responsibility for self-checking the accuracy of own work and that of subordinates, if applicable
- Develops and maintains estimating schedules
- Providing proposal support
- Maintains established Estimating Systems, Procedures, and Manuals
- Familiar with the use and purpose of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), utilize assigned WBS in developing the cost estimates
- Perform peer review of estimate when assigned
- Act autonomously on mid-sized projects
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Total 10-15 years’ experience in Consulting/Engineering (EPC environment) with minimum 8-10 years’ experience in mining projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in Mining sector/Mining projects.
