Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.
• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
- Four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Civil engineering field of study and 16 to 20 years of work-related experience in Civil & Underground drainage work; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required.
- Major experience in Mining & Metal Projects.
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Perform and check calculations, and solve problems of complex nature
- Review documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines other duties as assigned
- Perform Material Take off and effort Estimation for proposals based on inputs.
- Expert knowledge in Hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design, understanding geotechnical recommendations and its impact of Civil design
- Expertise in understanding of topographical surveying (civil) and its impact on plant elevations.
- Proficient in using civil Engineering software such as Sanitary & Storm Analysis, Info Drainage or any Hydraulic analysis software for UG utilities like Storm water, Sanitary etc.
- Managing and leading a large-size project independently
- Experience in developing & checking civil drawings like Grading, Bulk earthwork and Road Geometry for Plant and Heavy Roads, Crust design & Paving design calculations.
- Shall ensure compliance with Industry standard procedures and project requirements.
- Co-ordination with other offices (Civil team) for any interface queries and its timely resolution
