The Piping Design & Engineering group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on engineering and/or design, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for success. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client’s organization and others disciplines in our taskforce is essential.

 

In these projects, the piping engineering team works within a task force for the realization of multi-discipline projects in close cooperation with vendors, subcontractors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.


Are you eager to learn and you have an Engineering background? Curious and innovative? To expand our Piping Design & Engineering group we are looking for a Piping Material Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate is responsible for and must be able to:
• Perform engineering in all project phases e.g. Feasibility studies, conceptual design, front-end design, detail engineering and design and plant commissioning for integration of new facilities in revamp type project as well for grass-root type of projects. Work activities include a.o.:

- Development of P&ID’s including piping line list, assigning pipe classes based on material selection diagrams and process design conditions.

- Develop narrative or detailed piping classes based on project requirements, including internal pressure calculations of piping components.

- Develop and review specifications such as the piping material specification, piping pressure test specification, shop and field fabrication specification, PED Implementation plan, in accordance with client requirements and authority regulations.

- The complete cycle of procurement of piping bulk materials as well as special items, including preparation of the material requisition, bid evaluations, bid clarification meetings with suppliers, review of supplier documents.

• Supervision, planning, organization of the work :

  • Coordinate the piping material engineering work on project basis
    - Assist in preparation of schedules, estimates, manpower forecasts and change-risk management
    - Communicate and align with clients, vendors and other disciplines
    • Promote and support Value improvements initiatives and Continuous Performance Improvement
    • Pro-actively seeks guidance from senior or peers to gain knowledge to further develop, or close gaps, in the full skill set like described above.

Basic Job Requirements

• Minimum 5-10 years relevant working experience with an engineering contractor or production company in the process industry.
• Exhibit solid understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices (such as ASME, API, EN, PED)
• Exhibit solid understanding and having practical knowledge
• Knowledge / Experience of piping component calculation programs

Other Job Requirements

• Bachelor, Master degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering
• Fluent in English both verbal and written. German and/or Dutch are an advantage
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel
• Like to multi-task e.g. between multiple projects
• Experience with Scrum, Lean, Agile Methodologies or willingness to learn in practice
