Job Description

Fluor is seeking a Senior Contract Manager for future opportunities. In this role, you will provide contract management leadership on medium to large projects and support the development and execution of contracting strategies that contribute to successful project delivery.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements while providing commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong technical and professional expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage contractual risk in a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contract management activities on medium to large projects.
  • Develop and implement contracting strategies for individual contracts.
  • Conduct resource surveys and contract risk assessments and prepare reports of findings.
  • Support project setup activities, including the development of project contract management documentation and master documents.
  • Promote and implement improvements to systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Assess resource requirements, prepare manpower and indirect cost estimates, and manage budgets for assigned contracts.
  • Review and provide commercial input to contract award recommendations.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company requirements.
  • Support work change management activities and claims evaluation and negotiation.
  • Analyze complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical solutions.
  • Interface with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and other project stakeholders to support project objectives.
  • Travel to project sites, as required, to support contract execution and project delivery.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management related field.
  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in contract management, commercial management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely at project locations, as required.
  • Experience developing and negotiating contract terms and conditions for construction, engineering, services, materials, and equipment installation contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting principles, commercial practices, and legal terms and conditions.
  • Broad understanding of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) projects.
  • Experience administering Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes for contractors on heavy industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple contract compensation models, including reimbursable cost, lump sum, and unit price contracts.
  • Experience evaluating, negotiating, and resolving contract changes and claims.
  • Ability to develop project-specific contract terms and conditions through effective flow-down of prime contract requirements.
  • Experience working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to develop Project Execution Plans and Contracting Plans.
  • Proven ability to develop effective contracting strategies and manage contractual risk throughout the project lifecycle.
