Job Description
Fluor is seeking a Construction Automation Specialist I to support model-based project execution through the coordination, validation, analysis, visualization, and automation of construction information. This role will work closely with Engineering, Construction, BIM, Project Controls, and Digital Delivery teams to improve project planning, execution, and reporting through the effective use of digital construction technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience working with 3D models and construction data, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain multidisciplinary federated 3D models throughout the project lifecycle.
- Aggregate and manage models from engineering disciplines and project stakeholders using Navisworks and related platforms.
- Perform model QA/QC, data validation, constructability reviews, and data integrity assessments.
- Develop 4D simulations and construction sequencing visualizations to support planning and execution strategies.
- Support construction teams with model-based planning, work packaging, execution readiness reviews, and construction analytics.
- Utilize model metadata and object properties to support reporting, material management, project controls, and completions processes.
- Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and data extracts that support project execution and business decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of automated workflows for model validation, quality assurance, reporting, and data management.
- Facilitate integration and communication between BIM, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Work Packaging, and Digital Delivery teams.
- Evaluate and support digital construction technologies and automation solutions that improve project execution.
- Analyze project challenges and recommend innovative automation and digital construction solutions.
- Maintain awareness of emerging industry trends and technologies related to BIM, digital construction, automation, and model-based execution.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, BIM, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fundamental understanding of construction execution processes and digital construction technologies.
- Ability to learn and apply Fluor standards, procedures, and automation workflows.
- Experience working with large datasets and model-based information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, life sciences, semiconductor, mining, chemical, or other large capital projects.
- Experience working with and validating large federated 3D models.
- Proficiency with Navisworks for model coordination, validation, navigation, and data analysis.
- Experience developing 4D construction simulations using Navisworks Timeliner, SYNCHRO, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with BIM data structures, metadata, and model-based reporting.
- Experience with iConstruct, including BIMFlow, Data Links, data validation, reporting, and workflow automation.
- Knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), workface planning, construction planning, and execution readiness processes.
- Experience with Hexagon Smart 3D, Octave Forte, SmartPlant Review (SPR), and SmartPlant Interop Publisher (SPIOP).
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Common Data Environments (CDE), and ISO 19650 standards.
- Experience developing automated workflows, reporting tools, and digital construction solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet, presentation, database, and reporting software.
