Job Description

This position supports all projects globally across Fluor and reports to the Director of Welding, NDE and Code Services. The role ensures compliance with code, contract, and industry requirements while providing subject matter expertise in NDE practices. The NDE Level III Specialist provides oversight of NDE activities, conducts reviews of procedures and contractor performance, certifies Fluor NDE personnel, and supports engineering, fabrication, and field operations. 

Basic Job Requirements

  • Provide direct feedback to clients regarding NDE activities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on NDE processes within Fluor
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a time conscious and time efficient manner
  • Ability to travel for project support including site, vendor, and fabricator locations
  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten years
  • Support all Business Lines and Solutions Groups across Fluor
  • Assign or review NDE requirements for items designed or procured by Mechanical, Piping, and Structural groups
  • Train and certify Fluor NDE Level I and II personnel
  • Meet applicable ASME, API, and NBIC requirements for Code work
  • Review contracted NDE services including Written Practices, Method Practices, and Examiner Certification Records
  • Review vendor data for engineering and design use
  • Review and approve NDE procedures (RT, UT, PT, MT) for code and spec compliance
  • Provide oversight for client and internal interests
  • Support global projects as an engineering resource through materials and welding groups

Other Job Requirements

  • Must currently hold ASNT or ISO 9712 Level III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • Must have experience with Digital and Computed Radiography (DR and CR)
  • Previously held Level II certifications in current endorsements
  • Oversee qualification examinations of contractor advanced NDE procedures and technician qualifications
  • Perform auditing, oversight, and data review of contractor NDE activities in the field and shop
  • Experience developing NDE procedures and instructions
  • Evaluate and apply examination results per codes, standards, specifications, and project procedures
  • Review auditing reports of NDE activities
  • Provide contractor oversight at project start and as needed
  • Review completed field NDE data and reports as required by the project
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or bachelor degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with international NDE codes and standards
  • Ability to speak or read multiple languages
  • Additional certifications in surface or advanced methods (VT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD)

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $92,000.00 - $171,000.00
