Job Description

This role will be part of Fluor's Energy Solutions Business Line. The Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and equipment in support of complex projects from pre-award through closeout. 

•    Prepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelines with supervision
•    Conduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery and compliance with supervision
•    Monitor and report purchasing discipline documents from engineering pre-commitment through to purchase order issuance
•    Validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
•    Perform purchase order close-out activities in accordance with project procedures
•    Perform self-audit of purchasing files and procedure compliance
•    Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholders
•    Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
•    May need to travel to attend to business related matters
•    Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
•    Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Business or Supply Chain and no required previous work experience 

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

• Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak) 

• Experience should be primarily in the area of material management

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Good computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
