Job Description
Fluor’s Law Department is seeking a paralegal for its office in Irving, TX. This position reports to an Assistant General Counsel for Dispute Resolution.
This position provides support to the various members of Fluor’s Dispute Resolution team within its Law Department and must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and effectively manage a high-volume case load. The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Respond to third party subpoenas and coordinate with other members of the Law Department in the handling service of complaints and other court related filings against the company.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather, analyze and produce information responsive to subpoenas, discovery requests, and investigations.
•Work with other members of the Law Department, Finance and external counsel to prepare, track and manage budgets.
• Provide day-to-day support to in-house counsel managing litigation, federal and state inquiries, and proceedings, and internal compliance initiatives.
• Manage high volumes of tasks and projects independently when possible
and coordinate with attorneys when appropriate.
• Collaborate with other members of the Law Department on legal hold notices related to claims and litigation.
• Perform data entry and retrieval of information through docket management and reporting systems and update/maintain department databases as appropriate, including to collaborate with other paralegals in the Law Department on corporate registrations and contracts recordkeeping.
• Legal research as may be directed by counsel or on own initiative.
• Handle sensitive, confidential, and proprietary matters on a routine basis
with confidentiality.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of directly related experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with a law firm or corporate legal department,
with 1 year focused on providing paralegal support to litigation attorneys
• Paralegal certificate
• Background check clearance

regulatory matters, including experience responding to discovery

• Ability to learn and acquire expertise in new software and applications
• Computer skills to include:
- Intermediate to advanced skills in database management.
- Expertise in creating spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and working in Microsoft Access
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Adobe,
- Knowledge of e-mail file management/storage and other types of electronically stored information
- Experience with TeamConnect or other legal management systems helpful
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Legal Assistant, Paralegal Certification, or global equivalent
• Experience working in either private practice or corporate environment
• Outstanding project management, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented, with strong ability to prioritize
• Demonstrated ability to work with outside counsel and deal with internal clients at many different levels within an organization
• Proficient in the use of computers to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
