Job Description
Provides food preparation, menu planning, meal service and related support services as assigned. Prepares foods and beverages according to proper food preparation procedure and standards, including temperature guidelines. Responsible for preparing dining room areas, serving lines, counters, stands, and special dining event areas. Maintains cafeteria serving lines and replaces and/or refills consumables. Responsible for washing and sorting dishes, utensils, linens, and equipment. Performs general housekeeping duties in and around the dining facility, kitchen and storage areas. Responsible for understanding food preparation terminology, the safe operation of kitchen equipment and tools, and basic cooking and recipe conversion techniques. May provide task level guidance to less experienced personnel and oversee food service operations. May be assigned ordering, inventory, material handling, training and related functions.
As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.
Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and five (5) years to eight (8) years related experience. Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Other Job Requirements
Requires computer skills and proficiency using email, Microsoft Office or specialized applications as necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Performs duties in accordance with TB MED 530, Title 29, Code of Federal Regulation Part 1910.1200, DoD 1338.10-M, and MIL-STD-3006C. Other duties as assigned.
Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh, working and living conditions.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
