Key Responsibilities
• Lead all piping, materials engineering, corrosion management, and coating activities for the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical oversight for piping systems, pipe supports, specialty materials, corrosion protection systems, insulation, linings, and protective coatings made by the contractor.
• Review and approve engineering designs, material specifications, piping stress considerations, vendor documents, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate interfaces between piping, mechanical, process, civil, structural, electrical, and commissioning disciplines to support efficient project execution.
• Monitor contractor performance for quality, fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, coating application, and compliance with project requirements.
• Support technical evaluations, risk management, change control, and resolution of piping, materials, and coating-related engineering issues.
• Support construction, mechanical completion, testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure successful delivery of process and utility systems.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in piping engineering, materials engineering, corrosion protection, and coating systems on major industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience with process piping, utility piping, material selection, corrosion control, protective coatings, and construction quality assurance.
• Familiarity with applicable international standards such as ASME, ASTM, and ISO standards relevant to piping and coating systems.
• Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial, or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, coating application, and commissioning requirements.
• PMC/Owner's Engineer experience and semiconductor project experience will be an added advantage.
• Professional Engineer (PEng) registration is preferred.
• Malaysian candidate preferred.
