Scope
The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate and direct the performance of all construction craftsmen activities for assigned craft areas in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. The position requires a thorough working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to appreciate and resolve situations with little assistance, and see actions as a series of steps. With command, this position directs other line supervision, typically one or many foremen, as necessary in their roles to meet or exceed all project objectives. This position requires the ability to coordinate and direct construction craftsmen in numerous crafts within the assigned area of responsibility. This position is well-versed in the duties of a Foreman, typically having worked up through the craftsman levels through Foreman level to the General Foreman level.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage site construction and facility improvement projects.
• Serve as the primary interface with client and landlord stakeholders through communication and scheduled progress meetings.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, estimates, bid packages, and execution plans for capital projects annually.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to plan shutdowns and minimize operational disruption.
• When required, engage contractors for bid walkdowns, evaluate proposals, and support contractor selection.
• Provide on-site leadership for construction execution, directing self-perform craft labor and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Client Standards.
• Manage procurement of materials, equipment rentals, long-lead items, and project logistics.
• Support design reviews and provide constructability input across piping, electrical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
• Ensure accurate documentation including red-lined drawings, as-builts, permits, and change records.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise craft personnel.
• Oversee administrative processes such as payroll approvals, invoicing, and expense tracking.
• Support facility maintenance operations and act in backup leadership roles as required.
Job Requirements
• Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in industrial construction, capital project execution, or facility services.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency with project scheduling, cost tracking, and construction documentation.
