Job Description

Fluor is seeking an O&M Site Manager to oversee a dynamic environment supporting the manufacture of colloidal silica slurry at EMD in Martin, SC. Efficiency and upkeep of critical manufacturing equipment is maintained through effective troubleshooting techniques. This role identifies and improves yield loss and scrap opportunities, develops and recommends new testing processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. The Site Manager will inspect performance of machinery, equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. As well as maintain and upkeep facilities preventative maintenance program.

The Site Manager is also responsible for the developing and/or implementing of systems improvement projects and supporting maintenance and production groups in resolving technical and engineering issues. This role will provide process on assigned Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA). This role supervises and trains departmental technicians. Capital equipment fabrication activities must be reviewed to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, regulatory safety standards, and user requirements.
• Comply with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.
• Performs all managerial functions common to facility maintenance. Reviews and evaluates performance and ensures EMD quality standards are being met. Takes corrective action to resolve problems.
• Reviews and assesses scope of authorized work and continually monitors job progress against plan.
• Monitors Work Order implementation to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Manage and oversee facility Maintenance plan including Preventative Maintenance program.
• Quote, award, and supervise 3rd party contractors as requested by EMD to fulfill client objectives and oversee Maintenance program or fulfillment of Capital projects.
• Obtain quotes and purchase materials as required to fulfill Maintenance program requirements and assist Capital projects from facilities Maintenance program.
• Establishes quality control standards. Develops budget and cost control data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of service.
• Performs an audit function regularly to ensure EMD standards of workmanship are being met.
• Ensures all established costs, quality and delivery commitments are fulfilled.
• Reviews project status reports and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Meets with EMD Management Team weekly to review departmental progress and review/confirm commitments.
• Uses the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) to track all maintenance work, labor hours, work orders, etc.
• Creates and adjusts reports through SAP as needed to develop and review appropriate metrics as needed.
• Complies with all EMD Corporation and Merck safety requirements and programs.
• Develops and implements the Maintenance Optimization Plan, Maintenance Management Plan, Maintenance Master Plan and the communications of these plans to the Team.
• Audits maintenance processes and provides recommendations for changes as required.
• Audits and reports safety issues, trends and implements corrective action as required.
• Promotes Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) processes and programs.
• Works with the various Site Teams/Work groups to develop efficient processes in accordance with EMD procedures.


Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed. Some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements 

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

• Must have a minimum six (6) years of progressive construction and technical experience

• Candidate/employee must pass a pre-hire physical exam and ongoing annual physicals required for respirator usage.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Previous project management experience

• Ability to delegate

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or business field of study preferred with minimum six (6) years of O&M office or site experience and minimum one (1) year experience managing small to medium somewhat complex O&M sites or projects

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $92,500.00   -  $162,500.00
