Job Description
Summary
The E&I Helper will be primarily responsible for assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment while on 12-hour rotating shifts to support 24x7 site operations. Rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, will start after an initial training period on day shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Complies with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.
- Read blueprints, P&IDs, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
- Assist with repairing and troubleshooting analog and discrete instrument loops.
- Effectively use typical instrument calibration equipment (RTD calibrators, mA calibrators, T/C calibrators, laptops for communication).
- Follow step by step calibration procedures.
- Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
- Assist with repairing and troubleshooting 480 VAC 3 phase motor starter circuits as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
- Assist with troubleshooting PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.
- Work with and troubleshoot the following: Rosemount smart pressure transmitters, Rosemount Magnetic & DP Flow Meters, Rosemount temperature transmitters, ABB DCS system or at least some familiarity with DCS hardware, Fisher Control Valves and Smart Valve Controllers, Asco Solenoids, Pressure and Flow Limit Switches
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2 year instrumentation and/or electrical trade school degree preferred
- Very detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
- Significant troubleshooting skills for 4-20mA loops and 120 VAC control circuits.
- Familiar with PLCs & PLC logic (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc).
- Experience utilizing Lock Tag & Try, and Confined Space Procedures.
- Strict safety programs adherence philosophy.
