Job Description

This position typically provides oversight of the payroll department and other support to the project as needed for other departments. This position is usually assigned to small to medium-sized projects or assists on larger projects.

• May manage a payroll staff, as delegated by the Site Services Manager and or Project Manager requiring providing an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members; including on-the-job training, formal training, and development opportunities with timely performance feedback

• Analyze situations, identify, and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action

• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and ensure payroll staff meet deadlines  

• Review and establish compliance documentation for any work practices identified  

• Monitor all Finance processes for compliance

• Ensure that personnel being supervised have an understanding of how to apply compliance regulations to daily work processes  

• Other duties as assigned 

Basic Job Requirements

• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors  

• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job  

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines  

• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner   

Other Job Requirements

• Coordinate data entry of new/rehires, terminations, rate changes, and other miscellaneous changes by Human Resources to ensure timely delivery of these data elements to on site Payroll/Timekeeping

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory and/or hands on experience to perform standard daily payroll duties  

• Project payroll start-up and close out experience

• Excellent organization skills

Experience with badge systems, standard payroll and timekeeping systems  

• Very strong leadership and decision-making skills

• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Very good personal computer skills to include Microsoft software

• Very strong math skills

• Strong understanding of file organization As Required

•  Knowledge of craft wage packages and fringe benefits

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
