The purpose of this position is to:
- Exhibit positive attitude towards leaning and applying Design HSE practices
- Promote and foster HSE standards and goals
- Develop knowledge and skills to meet required levels for upgrade
- Perform routine HSE assignments requiring interface with other disciplines
Primary Job Duties/Functions are as follows:
- Guide basic level HSE design personnel
- Produce deliverables as listed below with minimum to no supervision of Senior engineer:
- Hazardous Classification schedule
- Escape route layout
- Safety equipment, safety sign layout/ specification
- H2S / Toxic Area Layout
- Other protective systems drawings required per project
- HSE Studies and associated reports done in-house
- Fire hazards analysis
- Terms of reference for PHA/SIL/LOPA
- Prepare a Dispersion/radiation calculations/consequence analysis using PHAST under minimal supervision
- Check basic level HSE personnel deliverables
- Assist in interpreting and checking for correctness of calculation/studies done by third party consultants
- Assist in interpreting and checking for correctness of dispersion/ radiation models done by vendor
- Assist in preparation of the following HSE deliverables:
- Definition of applicable standards/regulations for the project
- HSE management Plan
- HFE Specifications/Implementation Plan
- Design HSE/Protection Philosophy
- Specifications for Protective Systems
- Terms of reference for HSE Studies usually done by Third Party consultants such as QRA, EIA, RAM, etc.
- HSE Critical Elements Identification and Performance Standards
- ALARP Demonstration Report
- Design HSE Case
- Sustainability Plan
- Pollution Control Strategies
- Environmental Monitoring Plan/Management Plan or similar documents
- Implement Inherently Safer Concepts in the design
- Participate in formal design reviews such as ISD, Layout, P&ID and Model reviews
- Participate in PHA/SIL/LOPA
- Facilitate HAZID and ensure that results are sufficient to be used for FSAs and other risk management deliverables
- Facilitate small scale HAZOP/SIL/LOPA
- Implement Management of Change in Design Phase
- Lead HSE for a small to medium scale project
- Develop and make a formal presentation when given the opportunity
Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of at least 9 years of relevant experience of Technical/Process Safety work
- Had been involved in Offshore or LNG projects
- Successful completion of major projects

Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
- Experience in PHAST, PHA Works, and exSILentia software is an advantage.
- Experience in interpreting CFD results is an advantage.
- Experience in using CAD tools such as AutoCad and Microstation is an advantage.
- Experience in using 3D model viewing tools such as Smart Plant Review and Review Reality or equivalent software is required.
