Job Description
The purpose of the Senior Project Information Manager role is to provide a service to effectively manage and deliver timely, accurate information (documents, data & models) generated, collected, integrated, and transferred by the project into operations, building the “digital asset” in conformance with BHP IM Handover Specification and other requirements.
In conjunction with the PSD Manager, manage project information management (PIM) team resources to deliver, manage and maintain the integrity of the information for the project, via standard tools and processes.
Work collaboratively in support of all stakeholders across the project and site teams.
Reporting to the Project Systems and Data Manager.
The PIM will be required to:
• Discuss, agree and align project PIM strategies and delivery plans to align with
• The project and site Information management requirements as applicable
• Accountable for the provision of all aspects of PIM throughout the project lifecycle
• JV systems coordination with Hatch and BHP as required
• Ensure infrastructure and interface between all participating stakeholders are appropriately accounted for
• Develop, evolve, communicate, and implement the PIM strategy, based on the
• Projects information management standards and site standards, for the assigned work scope
• Develop and execute a PIM implementation plan across all project phases, up to hand over
• Provide input into project PS&D budget
• Provide oversight and assurance on contractor information processes and systems and ensure compliance with BHP requirements, paying careful attention to interfaces between all stakeholders
• Ensure the set up and operation of the PIM processes and tools configured to suit project needs and successful transition to operations
• Ensure availability and maintenance of document and data registers (as required) and distribution matrices
• Ensure PIM requirements included in contract tendering, evaluation, and award processes
• Ensure PIM learning and best practices are captured and shared
• Drive quality, simplification, efficiency and standardization.
• Align PIM Team delivery, ensuring conformance to regional and central standards.
• Develop and manage interfaces with key stakeholders
• Establish PIM documentation processes for multiple concurrent site projects on requirements
• Support handover of Project information from projects into Site IM systems, and validation of fit for purpose information for the site.
Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements
• Specialize in facilitating business process management sessions and workshops
• Specialize in data analyst skills and/or data quality management
• Specialize in business process modeling and management
• Conduct surveillance of industry, client, and competitor intelligence (e.g., conferences, seminars, etc.)
• Conduct training courses for specialties or Project Information Management (PIM) procedures and solutions
• Support Excel To Win (ETW) Strategies
• Support Business Transformation & Innovation (BT&I) initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
• Accredited four (4) year degree or two (2) year diploma, or global equivalent in Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, or Computer Science is preferred
• Eight (8) years of experience in project management or Information Management (IM) lead position
• Three (3) years of experience in Project Information Management/Information Technology/Automation
• Four (4) years of experience in Automation support, Computer Aided Design (CAD) coordination, Project Controls, Engineering, or Procurement/contracts, or equivalent is recommended
