Job Description

Fluor M&M is a leader in the study, engineering, and execution of M&M projects world-wide. We have designed and constructed marquee projects in all regions of the world. Regionally, our current project base includes landmark projects in British Columbia, Western United States, Argentina, Chile, and European Union.  We work with multiple major, and many emerging, mining companies, generally with a focus on precious metals. Our team is leading the market with efficient designs and serves as a key partner for our clients in developing new ways of adopting innovative technologies emerging in our sector, as well as redefining the project delivery model for the next wave of major world projects. We are currently executing feasibility study, detailed design, and construction work ranging from small capital improvement projects to our client’s largest mega-projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivery as an Infrastructure Area Lead / Project Manager, supporting mining, transportation, and civil infrastructure scopes, including site development, roads, bridges, and related heavy civil works. You may lead or support small to large-sized or mega-sized EPC or EPCM projects. We look forward to welcoming experienced leaders seeking long-term development as part of our vibrant office.

The role of Project Manager – Mining Infrastructure will be specifically focused on scope associated with site development, access roads, bridges, drainage structures, tailings storage facilities, and camp & ancillary facilities, bringing demonstrated leadership, technical, and execution experience to direct the work of others.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading planning, execution, and control of infrastructure project scopes, including schedule, cost, risk, and change management;
  • Managing multidisciplinary technical teams, vendors, consultants, and licensors to ensure integrated and compliant designs;
  • Managing civil and transportation infrastructure scopes, including earthworks, access roads, haul roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems;
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) requirements;
  • Applying applicable local, provincial/state, and federal/national statutes and guidelines;
  • Developing project staffing plans and coordinating resources with functional managers and subcontractors;
  • Leading development and oversight of project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts;
  • Overseeing preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design packages, and bid documents;
  • Ensure effective and timely coordination among design, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, and maintenance teams for integration of technical content and schedule activities
  • Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder communications;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirement;
  • Non-process infrastructure experience required (camps, warehouses, offices, utilities, access roads, bridges, and transportation infrastructure);
  • Strong civil engineering background required, including earthworks, roads, bridges, dams, pipelines, pump stations, and drainage structures;
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction/project management (EPC/EPCM/CM), with the majority on mining or heavy civil infrastructure projects;
  • Experience in prime contract management of different commercial models including cost reimbursable and lump sum
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills;
  • Strong technical, contractual, and commercial understanding;
  • Ability to work effectively in a schedule-driven, multi-stakeholder environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous successful performance as a Project Manager on medium or large-scale infrastructure projects;
  • Experience managing road, bridge, and heavy civil scopes in remote or mining environments;
  • International project experience and cultural awareness;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Familiarity with data-centric execution and integrated project management systems;

Compressed work schedule: The Fluor Canada offices work a compressed work schedule offering every second Friday off. 

Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $138,000.00 - $256,000.00

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
